Course program

Scrum Theory

“The Scrum Guide” as the primary source. “Revelations” of Scrum. Agile & Scrum relationship. Common misconceptions. Beyond “The Scrum Guide”. Recommendations for further studying.

How to Sell Agile to a Customer

We’ll teach you to explain to the client why they have to pay for so many meetings and why the project will be much better by using Scrum. We’ll talk about what’s so important and valuable in the manifesto and all other numerous rules. We’ll discuss how to make Agile and fixed price to become friends and what other features and attributes have to be friends as well. How to not agree with the “ship and forget” mindset, because there is always something else after the increment.

Artifacts

We will learn to determine what is an artifact and what is not. We’ll create the optimal backlog according to Deep, Invest, and MoSCoW. We’ll help you to split User Story vertically and by meaning and to select visual elements for tracking progress.

All meetings in Scrum

We will review all meetings in Scrum. Sprint planning, user interview, product launch, retrospective, sprint review, and refinement. We’ll define the mandatory points for scheduling any meeting, whether you’re a Scrum Master, PM, or, as it often happens, a one-man army.

Facilitation

Just like traditional companies have a development department, large companies must have a facilitator department in their structure. A facilitator is a person who, regardless of their condition, mood, or health status can turn on their positive energy and capabilities while working in a group. According to international standards of a facilitator, they must always believe in other people’s potential, be able to see the best in them, and help them reveal it. A facilitator is a person who always plays on the Light side. During the class, we will take our first firm steps towards becoming a confident facilitator.

Self-organizing teams

Are self-organizing teams a myth or reality? How to build a process so that the Scrum Master is not needed and everything works by itself. Prerequisites of self-organization. Process of work.
